Centurion CD DVD Storage Library Electronic Organizer PC Controlled 100 Disc Manager Review

Centurion CD DVD Storage Library Electronic Organizer PC Controlled 100 Disc Manager

I got two of these for my husband, but I installed the software, units, and loaded the CDs myself, and I'm somewhat technophobic. You go to the company website and download the instruction manual and software. You plug in one power cord (ten units can share one power cord), use one USB cord (again, ten units can share), and to add more units, you simply stack them (up to ten high and somehow you can link up to 127 of these together), as there is a daisy chain embedded in each unit top and bottom and they lock together when you stack. Open the program you downloaded, then attach the USB to the unit and then the computer, and you are off and running. I added 200 CDs in about three hours. It is mind numbing, but once it is done the results are magic! Everything is organized and easy to find. Who knew we had so many duplicates? The units are loud and slow (up to 7 seconds to eject), but I'm in no hurry and the noise isn't horrendous. They look nifty, seem sturdy, and we're buying more, as I ran out of room. I told my husband I knew we were staying married forever now because our music collections are inseperable in our ProjectLab Century CD organizers.
Edited to add: the daisy chain on one of them was broken and we had to send it back. We had a terrible time working with the vendor, computergeeks, who would not answer our emails, calls, or return messages. They sell this unit on Amazon. We finally were able to get the RMA and return it and got our money back. We have four units now, two completely filled, two waiting to be filled, and are very happy with them.

20 Chubby Black Ten DVD Capacity Empty Replacement Boxes with Stacked Hub & Wrap Around Sleeve #DV10R27STKBK (27mm) (10DVD) Review

20 Chubby Black Ten DVD Capacity Empty Replacement Boxes with Stacked Hub and Wrap Around Sleeve #DV10R27STKBK (27mm) (10DVD)

What do you say? The little prongs that hold the DVDs do not break off. Even when dropped these cases hold up perfectly. Good plastic! Only slightly thicker than a single VHS plastic case and yet ten discs can hold from ten to two hundred times the material. The storage advantage is obvious.
The item picture shows an eight DVD case rather than a ten. So imagine one more empty slot/hole in the spine where the three rectangular holes are shown. The additional hole, spacing and added width are what I am pointing out.
Is that a problem? No. Just an observation.
This is my third order of this size of case.
'nuff said. JPF

They do the job. Not as cheaply as other types of sleeves, I grant you that, but I liked the Atlantic DVD sleeves so I thought I'd go ahead and use these too. No complaints really. I like the completely clear front to display the cd cover. There is a flap over the opening that slips beneath a tab. Sometimes the flap pops out if you aren't careful.

In combining our DVD collections- my BF and I realized we had way too many- to fit in the closet designated for te movie colle tion-- once we got rid of the duplicate- this sheets (added to the big books) save us! We were ae to sort by genre and fit all of our movies on 2 shelves-rather than losing an entire closet to a DVD collection! A friend referred me to these a nd said "this is the ONLY way to go if you have that many DVDs" she was right!

Innovera CD/DVD Storage Case with Hinged Lid and Key Lock Holds 150 Discs, Clear Review

Innovera CD/DVD Storage Case with Hinged Lid and Key Lock Holds 150 Discs, Clear
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
The case is fine, sturdy and well made. The down side (not too far down, however) is that I spent 1/2 hour picking off the plastic pieces that needed to be punched out of every sleeve which hold the disks. These are round dots like that which comes out of a paper punch. There are 4 on each sleeve. If you don't do this, you'll find them all over the floor when you handle them to put the disks into. Each sleeve has 2 sides, with a plastic piece that needs to be removed before you can put a disk into them
These disks/sleeves simply sit into the case and are flipped through like pages in a book on edge. White paper self-sticking labels are provided for each sleeve if you want to title them across the top of the sleeves. 3 plastic dividers are provided which can separate the disk groups in the case.
Aside from this hassle, the case is good.

DVD DIVIDERS Review

DVD DIVIDERS
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
We got about 1,000 DVDs or so and we put them all in a database program and we use a barcode scanner to loan them out and to keep track them. I organized our DVD's and Blu-Rays by alphabetical, So I wanted something that would divide them by alphabetical. At first I actually used cardboard and just wrote the letter on it. So I just decided to get these instead and they are perfect! Looks great! High quality!
Though, you see in the photos that they have like artists written on them, mine was all plain! Which was even better!

Allsop Cupertino DVD Album 32 Review

Allsop Cupertino DVD Album 32
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
When I opened the box, I did not find the item I expected, I expected this case to look more like a photo album bigger, taller. I apparently did not read the measurements of the Case. Much to my surprise, it is way better and much more sturdy. I bought 2 DVD albums, but I put CD's in them. My daughter's CD's(music, audio books,PC games)were taking up 13.5 inches on one of my brand new built-in bookcase shelves. In comes these nifty little cases (6.5 x 2.5)and Voila', now only 5 inches are occupied with her stuff. What is really neat and surprising is that the CD covers also fit in the sideway pockets, yes sideways, so the CD's can't fall out. Did I mention the hard, shiny(wipeable)magnetcally closing features? All are perks. This is definately a space-saving organizing tool. I am sure I will stock up on these for my use and for gift-giving.

Memorex 32021980 DVD Storage Cases 10 Pack Review

Memorex 32021980 DVD Storage Cases 10 Pack
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I own a great many pre-recorded DVDs and one thing I've learned above all else is that all DVD cases are not made the same. Some are very good, some mediocre, and some down right awful. Another issue that comes up is damage that can occur during the removal of those labels used to seal the actual disc inside the case, the one that warns potential thieves about the security device often enclosed within...especially annoying to me is when the adhesive from these labels remains on the case, rather than staying on the label once it is removed. By now you're probably thinking I'm of the retentive type, but I like to see myself as being particular (I know, I know, six of one, half dozen of the other), at least when it comes to certain things, like media storage...anyway, while looking into purchasing replacement DVD cases, I actually learned a few things...like the fact that DVDs, while similar to CDs, are, in fact, manufactured differently. It seems DVDs are actually two discs bonded together, and sometimes the process doesn't always bond the center hub of the DVD. This may not be a problem in and of itself, but if you were to use a CD case to store a DVD, the extra pressure required to remove the disc from a CD case could cause the hub to crack, and the loss of data could occur. I guess this is why most DVD cases I've seen have a simple push release mechanism that holds the disc in place.
When I bought these cases over other, similar bundled cases, I really didn't put a lot of thought into it, but ten cases for five bucks seemed like a pretty good deal, and Memorex was a brand name I recognized. The cases are very sturdy and snap closed together in a secure fashion. The hub/disc locking mechanism features three nodes with the push aspect attached to one node, and holds the disc in place with an authorative `snap'. When pushed, it affects said node to allow for release of the disc. Once the disc is in place, it sits within a circular protection zone on a slight, embedded lip, with the outer area featuring molded grooves to facilitate easy grasping of the edges of the disc. The inner cover of the case, opposite the disc area has two holders that allow printed material to be stored inside along with the disc. The outside of the case has a layer of transparent plastic, allowing for the insertion of printed material.
Inside one of the cases is included a bonus in that of a data disc featuring a Memorex software program titled exPressit, which provides disc labeling templates for just about every aspect you can imagine, and claims to work with both PC and Mac operating systems. Of course, for best results, the manufacturer recommends you use Memorex labels, but I'm sure they'd work with any labels available. All in all I'm very pleased with these replacement cases as they met my need, and I thought the price to be very reasonable.

Mission Media Cabinet – Walnut Review

Mission Media Cabinet – Walnut
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This is an outstanding media cabinet. The quality of the materials is excellent - strong, heavy and sturdy pieces, extra assembly hardware (screws, bolts, etc.) included. The wood is slightly lighter than in the picture, but I would still consider it a "walnut". The only downside was the time it took to be manufactured and sent to me, but it was worth the wait. Very happy with the purchase and would buy again if needed.

Winsome Wood CD/DVD Cabinet with Glass Doors, Antique Walnut Review

Winsome Wood CD/DVD Cabinet with Glass Doors, Antique Walnut
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I bought this cabinet and I'm somewhat dissatisfied.
The assembly is not complicated, it uses bolts with cam locks.
PRO's: Finish, color, enclosed to keep dust out.
CON's: poor door hinge design; it's too small and spacing for DVD's is very restrictive.
The doors do not close evenly and make contact with the shelving.
DVD space is lost because of the top door magnets.
Summary: nice looks but lack of spacing between DVD/shelves and doors causes problems with proper clsosing. Everything is very tightly packed.

Large CD/DVD Binder Insert Pages Review

Large CD/DVD Binder Insert Pages
Average Reviews:

These are very well-made page inserts for the Handspring dvd binders. The pages are backed in soft material to keep the dvds clean and unscratched. The image they show here may be misleading: there is space for the dvd insert from the dvd case, but if you want to save the actual dvd covers, you have to cut them down to size or store them elsewhere.
If you don't want to keep the dvd covers, these are a great solution. Highly recommended!

SEI Black Steel Wall-Mount CD Rack Review

SEI Black Steel Wall-Mount CD Rack
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I just got these and installed them a couple of nights ago (I ordered two). I am really pleased with them. The C.D.'s are accessible and easy to see and sort in the individual "squares". I was finally able to put Mozart with Mozart and Bach with Bach and Alison Kraus with Alison Krause and Leo Kotke with Leo Kotke, etc. and etc. and etc. I think it is a great design! The black wire is there, but, doesn't take over like a wood shelf does. Also, it is fairly lightweight which made installation easy! We have hundreds of C.D.'s and storing them and organizing them has been a nightmare! I was interested in these because the product description said they each held 108 C.D.'s. I had my doubts, but, I'm here to tell you, they do! It is great to get some of our C.D.'s off the floor where we have to squat and use a flashlight to find one (on regular C.D. shelves). One thing to be aware of is that they do stick out from the wall (of course) and so I was unable to put them where I'd intended...on the hall wall. I was afraid they'd get in the way and get knocked around. I hung them over the bookcases that house DVD's, etc. and since they don't stick out any further than the shelves, they are safe! The diamond shape also gives you the opportunity to create a nice design on the wall. You can put them up against each other or separate them...they look great either way! If you are a media hog like we are and your C.D.'s are all over the place, these are a terrific solution!

Sleek and contemporary, this unique CD rack makes an interesting conversation piece while affording music lovers a creative way to display their favorite albums. The minimalistic rack features sturdy steel-framed construction with a classic black-matte finish, and it holds up to 108 standard compact discs with their spines showing for easy identification. While its angular diamond shape looks great hung alone, the unit can also be paired with additional matching racks (sold separately) to create an unusual and eye-catching wall display while housing larger CD collections. The rack mounts to any flat wall surface with a reinforced steel bar inset with screw holes, and its wiry design blends as nicely into a chic downtown loft as it does into a cozy family recreation room. The wall-mount CD rack measures 5-1/4 by 19 by 25-3/4 inches.

Atlantic Maxsteel 3020 440 CD/228 DVD/BluRay/Games 8-Tier Media Rack (Black) Review

Atlantic Maxsteel 3020 440 CD/228 DVD/BluRay/Games 8-Tier Media Rack (Black)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
i got the black Atlantic 3020 in the mail yesterday and had it put together in about 10 or 15 minutes. i can fit about 220 dvds on the thing, a huge improvement over having the wobbly stacks taking up a corner of floor in my room.
It looks attractive, with a smooth flat balck finish, and seems very sturdy (especially with the provided wall strap for anchoring). If you use this rack strictly for DVDs, and sit them in horizontal rows, you will only be able to fit 6 tiers (leaving two extra) on the rack.
I already have more DVDs than this unit can occupy so i have this idea. The unit seems more than sturdy enough to hold more tiers, and because of my limited floor space, building this thing up vertically would be necessary. I purchasing another Atlantic 3020, and incorporating the parts into the existing stand to make it about 6 or 7 feet high and hold about 10 or 11 tiers. I'm very confident after seeing the construction and utilizing the wall strap that i can pull this off.
All in all i think this is a great unit and would recommend it to anyone who needs a space-effictent media rack.
At the time of my purchase, the black model was 30 dollars more than the chrome model. I don't quite understand that, but the thing is well worth it either color you choose.

Discgear Selector 100 Auto Disc Retrieval System Review

Discgear Selector 100 Auto Disc Retrieval System
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This thing is genius and exactly what I didn't know I wanted. I had gone through my DVDs and gotten rid of the old ones, and I still had too many. I wasn't happy with my open DVD stand because it was bulky and, in my opinion, unsightly. But, I also didn't want to buy a high-end piece of furniture I liked bc I'd rather spend my money on other things.
I stumbled on this by accident and I just got my first one. Before purchasing this unit I did alot of research on various units that store DVDs. I was excited by the electronic one but the reviews said it was loud and tended to break. This has no motor, so unless I am pounding on it or throwing it across the room, I can't imagine breaking it any time soon. And for less than $40, I'm thrilled.
It was so easy to fill its silly. The software is easy to generate, edit, and move around. I kept pushing the button and 'ta da' the right DVD just pops up and when I'm done watching it, I just pop it back in. I realize how lazy that is to want to save the 5 seconds it takes to put the DVD back in the case. But, now that I have it sorted on their software I can find DVDs I'd forgotten I had. I swear I look through them all when I'm hunting for something to watch, but I just found two I forgot I even had!
I'm buying two more for the rest of the DVDs and then I'm starting in on my computer and music CDs. I can't wait.

Triple Media Tower - Cherry/black Review

Triple Media Tower - Cherry/black
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I was running out of space and was in desperate need of more media storage. This one fit the bill just right and it was the right price.
The only things that got me down is that when storing DVDs, you get 5 full shelves in each section and then half a shelf. This is true in all of the media storage shelves that I have bought. You will always end up with half a shelf or a very large shelf. The other thing that was aggravating was trying to nail the backing boards onto the shelf. It is in three sections instead of one. I think it would have been a bit easier if I only had to deal with one piece. Other than the backing the shelves went together fairly quickly (About 30 minutes after unpacking).
Shipping cost was fair and well worth it. It was heavy, but very well packed. Nothing was smashed or even scratched during transit. It was also very easy to unpack and had a minimal amount of garbage in it. Most of the packing was recyclable except for a couple pieces of styrofoam.
All in all if I need this amount of storage again (which I probably will in a year) I would definitely buy this again!
