These work pretty well. Plastic is more brittle than most others. Not the highest quality but good for the price.

Verbatim 95094 DVD or Blu-ray Tall Video Storage Case, Black, 50-Pack Review

I bought 2 boxes of these Verbatim DVD Video Trimcases (50pk, Black) - so, 100 DVD thin (trim) cases back in 2009, and they were OK. The other reviewer found many of them broke recently - but all of mine were OK when I got them. I will say, the Verbatims were much better than some bulk no-name cases that looked the same, but came in bulk from some other online source that I had also used 2 years ago. The Verbatim's clear plastic was better than the bulk no-named ones. But, 3 years ago I had found some of these cases from Memorex, and the Memorex ones were the best at that time. I can not find black Memorex thin DVD cases now, and I hated the no-named bulk ones, so the Verbatims were pretty good.
HOWEVER, I just got another 50 of these in December 2009, and wow, they are MUCH better than the prior ones, and they are even better than the Memorex ones I had years ago.
The DVD button that holds the DVD is nice. The clear plastic is really thick and study. This gives a great first impression. I'm ordering another 50 right now as they are now the best I've seen.
The unfortunate aspect of these, is that so far, I've not found a good total price for them. Most of the online places want about as much for shipping and handling as they do for the cases, and I've not found a place that will provide free shipping if I spend enough with them. Amazon, if you are reading this, please cut a deal with one of the suppliers for these. In 2010, as far as I have found, there is no better for large quantities of black thin (trim) DVD cases.

Memorex 32021980 DVD Storage Cases 10 Pack Review

Memorex 32021980 DVD Storage Cases 10 Pack
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I own a great many pre-recorded DVDs and one thing I've learned above all else is that all DVD cases are not made the same. Some are very good, some mediocre, and some down right awful. Another issue that comes up is damage that can occur during the removal of those labels used to seal the actual disc inside the case, the one that warns potential thieves about the security device often enclosed within...especially annoying to me is when the adhesive from these labels remains on the case, rather than staying on the label once it is removed. By now you're probably thinking I'm of the retentive type, but I like to see myself as being particular (I know, I know, six of one, half dozen of the other), at least when it comes to certain things, like media storage...anyway, while looking into purchasing replacement DVD cases, I actually learned a few things...like the fact that DVDs, while similar to CDs, are, in fact, manufactured differently. It seems DVDs are actually two discs bonded together, and sometimes the process doesn't always bond the center hub of the DVD. This may not be a problem in and of itself, but if you were to use a CD case to store a DVD, the extra pressure required to remove the disc from a CD case could cause the hub to crack, and the loss of data could occur. I guess this is why most DVD cases I've seen have a simple push release mechanism that holds the disc in place.
When I bought these cases over other, similar bundled cases, I really didn't put a lot of thought into it, but ten cases for five bucks seemed like a pretty good deal, and Memorex was a brand name I recognized. The cases are very sturdy and snap closed together in a secure fashion. The hub/disc locking mechanism features three nodes with the push aspect attached to one node, and holds the disc in place with an authorative `snap'. When pushed, it affects said node to allow for release of the disc. Once the disc is in place, it sits within a circular protection zone on a slight, embedded lip, with the outer area featuring molded grooves to facilitate easy grasping of the edges of the disc. The inner cover of the case, opposite the disc area has two holders that allow printed material to be stored inside along with the disc. The outside of the case has a layer of transparent plastic, allowing for the insertion of printed material.
Inside one of the cases is included a bonus in that of a data disc featuring a Memorex software program titled exPressit, which provides disc labeling templates for just about every aspect you can imagine, and claims to work with both PC and Mac operating systems. Of course, for best results, the manufacturer recommends you use Memorex labels, but I'm sure they'd work with any labels available. All in all I'm very pleased with these replacement cases as they met my need, and I thought the price to be very reasonable.

This a great product if you burn a lot of DVDs - especially if you want to keep the DVDs packaged uniquely apart from your CDs. The clear plastic outer wrapper allows for whatever information you wish to add...a nice feature (especially if you use DVDs to back-up your computer?). These slim cases save a lot of room.

Memorex Slim DVD Video 25-Pack Storage Cases (Clear) Review

Memorex Slim DVD Video 25-Pack Storage Cases (Clear)
Average Reviews:

They are thin and take up the minimum amount of space.
They are flexible and don't shatter like jewel cases.
You can see through them if your DVDs have labels or writing on them.
You can write directly on them with a Sharpie type pen so if you make your own home DVDs you don't have to write on the DVDs at all and risk what might happen long term with the pen ink chemicals interacting with the DVD layers.
And, they're designed not to damage the DVDs.
I've ordered lots of these. They're great!

Looking for replacement DVD cases for those that you opened in anticipation, only to find the disc frolicking in the case and the teeth from the hub rattling around inside? You know the hubs I am talking about--the five-pointed serpents-head design, where anywhere from one to all five teeth have broken off. The design of the hubs on these replacement cases--three semi-circular tongues--is one that I have never experienced a problem with. What a relief. Now if only the DVD manufacturers would quit sending us that defective crap!
By the way, the seller I used was Square Deal Recordings & Supplies. I cannot say, of course, that the replacement cases from this or any other seller will be what I have described. I spent considerable time on the Internet researching the problem of broken teeth on DVD hubs, looking specifically for a discussion of hub designs, but I found very little. Until sellers of replacement cases directly market them as being one of the better designs--I have seen three: two good, one bad, none ugly--we buyers cannot be sure of what we are getting. (Non-awareness of the problem may account for the mixed reviews of this product.)
To Sellers: Here is a marketing opportunity just waiting for you. Surely I cannot be the only one frustrated by this problem. Educate us on the various hub designs of these 7mm double-DVD slimline cases, and reassure us that we are not just throwing good money after bad on the same cases that have caused us so much grief.

Americopy 100 SLIM Black Double DVD Cases 7MM Review

Americopy 100 SLIM Black Double DVD Cases 7MM
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I've purchased three boxes of these cases over the year, slowly increasing my available storage space. The interesting thing about these is that each box is like a surprise.
First box 10 cases were broken and the plastic would often tear when trying to insert cover art.
Second box the cases were much better, but I had to struggle with the holder to hold the DVDs. Also needed four "clicks" to close these, when the others only need two.
Third box is also in good quality, but all the cases are warped, so the opposite holder ends up pushing into the top of the DVD.
Despite the odd mystique with each case (from the same brand oddly enough), I love these things. Because they are double-sided, you effectively can hold 200 DVDs for the slim price of $0.20 a case. I've regained so much wasted space from my previous DVD racks that I could fit a new sofa in the empty area.
Four stars because of cost and accessibility, more convenient than DVD binders. One star removed because of quality of product and lack of consistency.
Important notes:
- The majority of DVD owners tend to keep their collection in one place. If you move your DVDs about often, do not buy these. Despite my acclaim, they are very cheaply made. If you put stress on these, they will crack, warp, or otherwise lay waste to the DVD inside.
- They can fit the original DVD cover art in the plastic sleeve, but you will need to trim a mm or two on each side to fit properly.

These CD/DVD cases are nice and thin, but they are a little fragile. When you open the case, it is possible to rip the case. (So the plastic "locks" work well -- maybe too well -- the case won't open on its own.)
Thin cases are nice because they do save on storage. For what I paid, it was about what I expected. I just have to be a little careful when opening the cases. I open them by placing my fingers by the "locks."

Americopy 5 pack 6 Disc DVD Case Review

Americopy 5 pack 6 Disc DVD Case
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
While keeping six discs in the space it took to store one was my original intent. It was not my intention to buy something that shatters to small pieces at the slightest impact. Slight impact will break the disc holding clips as well as the center page mounting system. I've also had quite a few break when simply trying to open the cases. Use of a more resilient plastic would make these cases perfect but as they are, they pose a potential hazard to your discs.

The product is what you pay for. The cases are functionable. They are very bendable and break easily. When I recieved them, they came in a very nice box. When I unpacked the box and took the cases out there were several of them that were cracked and had pieces broken off. The plastic covering on the outside of the case to put your cover under, are thin and dent/rip easily. I can't complain for the price though. They are a good deal!

These cases are similar to others but far cheaper. Packing was minimal with use of newspaper loosly packed around the 50 cases. Cases were not bound together when placed in the box for shipment. Several cases were broken, did not close properly or had torn plastic inserts. I would not order from this sellar again unless packing was significantly better.

Out of the 100 DVD cases I received, I'd say nearly half of them were broken or unusable. I'm very disappointed. I see that I'm not the only one to complain about this so I'm guessing this wasn't a fluke.

Memorex 2-Disc DVD Movie Cases (10-Pack) Review

Memorex 2-Disc DVD Movie Cases (10-Pack)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
These cases are much like the standard ones which you get when you buy most pre-recorded DVD's. They are very durable and designed to hold two discs, a real advantage for saving space. But sometimes the DVD's will come loose inside even when the discs appeared to be "locked" securely in place. I have also had this problem with many other cases provided with most DVD's which I think are of decent quality. The discs will snap in place and they usually will remain in place, but not always.I would recommend these Memorex cases over many others, however, since they are larger and may offer more protection than the clear slim ones, which don't have much material surrounding the disc.
