Some dogs bond really close, my Weimraner, Zoe,thinks I am the alpa dog, but she loves my wife as well. Hachiko was keep away from the home, stayed in a shed, and the wife did not bond with the dog. So when her husband died, the dog had no master. It is a tough wish, but if the real wife still lives, I wish her boles each year on the day her husband died. I think by now she is sorry about how she treaded the dog, all dogs need a love object. While I am that person for Zoe, all of my family loves our dog and she could live with any of us..
