(More customer reviews)These were just what I expected, only bigger! LOL Just like what you would get at the movies. I used them to make move-themed gift baskets for Christmas. I used the container to hold a DVD, a package of popcorn, and 2 packs of hot chocolate. I wrapped it all up with cellophane and a bow. It was beautiful! And they can use the container for their popcorn. I was very happy with the product for the price.

Plastic Popcorn Bucket Review

(More customer reviews)Sitting on the counter, these look like regular cardboard popcorn tubs, but they are actually reuseable, washable plastic, which I think is much more economical than the throwaways. Unfortunately, my kids cracked even before I got to use it the first time. It is still useable though, even with the cracks. So they are decently sturdy, though are capable of cracking. Look great though!

The problem lies with the two plastic gears that turn the sweeper.Heat melted the way the gears are attached to the metal rods.I fixed mine with"Liquid Nails" but after further use the gears became brittle and cracked and I gave up. Don't buy!

(More customer reviews)I love this popper. I was looking for a way to make homemade kettle corn & this is it. It is so easy to use. My 12 yr old makes popcorn by himself and my younger kids love to crank the handle. For kettle corn I use 1/2 cup Orville popcorn, 1/4 c white sugar(brown makes caramel corn) and a little oil, sprinkle with salt before serving. Dump all together and put on burner. 5 mins later you have delicious kettle corn. I highly recommend this if you are tired of microwave and really want delicious homemade popcorn. A little FYI we have tried the popcorn kit it comes with, while it is good(a wee bit salty in spots) it's really not all that necessary. You get delicious popcorn using Orville's and a little butter drizzled on.

(More customer reviews)Give the Wabash people a call. They will ask you when you bought the popper and they will register your product. Then they will send you a brand new lid no questions asked. They will continue to do this for the next 25 years. I wish the entire gear system was made of metal, but with impeccable customer service like Wabash provides, I can overlook that.
As for the popper itself, the other reviews pretty much cover it. More fun and healthier than microwave popcorn and easier to store than a hot air job. I use 1/8 cup olive oil to 1/2 cup popcorn and don't even bother turning the gear until I hear the first kernel explode. I'm hoping this will save wear and tear for next time. I melt a tablespoon or two of butter over the top just 'cause I like the taste and add a little salt right in the kettle (be sure to use a potholder...it's hot!). Once the popcorn is gone, I fit the lid back on and stick it back under the cabinet. I don't even bother to wipe it out. Keeps it nice and seasoned!

Wabash Valley Farms 25008 Whirley-Pop Stovetop Popcorn Popper Review

(More customer reviews)I've been using my Whirley Pop for three years now. I eat a lot of popcorn, and I've tried every method known to man for making it. This device wins the prize: it makes a full pot of fluffy, crisp corn using a minimum of oil, leaving essentially no unpopped kernels.
But you have to pay attention to the directions and leave your preconceptions behind.
1. Don't use high heat. Yes, with the usual heavy pot you use high heat and shake vigorously. With Whirley Pop, you should use medium heat, and just crank the crank.
2. Don't use too much oil. 1-2 tablespoons is plenty. Use canola oil and you have a low-fat, low-cholesterol snack that tastes delicious.
3. Use good-quality popping corn. Orville's is good, but I've also gotten fine results with bulk popping corn for 50 cents a pound as well. Just know your source. And store it properly, sealed, dry, and cool. I've tried several exotic and (expensive) varieties and usually achieved results inferior to Orville's.
4. DON'T USE HIGH HEAT. Really. Most of the problems people seem to have with the Whirley Pop can probably be traced to setting the burner to High.
I don't really recommend any of the other products - corn, oils, flavorings - sold along with this popper, but the popper itself makes perfect popcorn, the best I've every had. You just have to pay attention to what you're doing and follow the instructions.
