(More customer reviews)Bizarre and colourful, like the movie itself in many respects, the American one-sheet poster from the 1954 film SECRET OF THE INCAS is not a true representation of the movies plot and action. Charlton Heston is running away from the thousands of Quechua Indians and dragging Nicole Maurey along with him. The artist hasn't quite captured Heston's square-jawed arrogance as the greedy gringo Harry Steele - and he appears to have a petrified expression on his face. Tell me something, have you ever seen Heston look so worried as this in any of his movies? Nicole Maurey has the body language of a Silent Screen heroine in distress, and a barefoot Yma Sumac doing the Twist in a mini-skirt doesn't actually happen in the movie (unfortunately!). Thomas Mitchell is sitting down with a sinister look on his face, but looks about as threatening as Benny Hill. Robert Young, very Davy Crockett wielding the rifle, but his character in the movie is certainly no action man. This framed poster of SECRET OF THE INCAS looks terrific hanging on my living room wall - its full of colour and frenzied action, and guests always comment on it.
