(More customer reviews)I bought this poster because I am fond of Bettie Page, she was a very fascinating woman. As a pin up model working primarily in the 1950's she displayed a wide range of modeling talent. Her pictures are erotic, but not distasteful or disrespectful of her and her beauty (as the majority of playboy or maxim pictures are today of their subjects). There is a playful and joyful quality about her work, that I just can't help but smile at whenever I see any picture of her. It's sad that there aren't more models like Bettie Page working today, and that the realm of erotic photography has gone the way it has. So much of what is passed off today as being erotic seldom is. This poster is more sexy than any poster I've ever seen of the likes of Britney Spears or Megan Fox and it is because of Bettie's goofiness that makes it so. Page was not afraid to come across as a real person in her modeling and wink at the camera as though to say to the admirer of her work, "hey I'm here, let's play." All the would be actresses today who pose for Playboy and Maxim want to be the next Bettie Page, but they can't even hold a candle next to her. And it's all because they don't know how to come across as believing in the notion that what they are doing is completely innocent. They play the role of being coy and innocent as an act with their bodies but drop it with their eyes, for the sake of appearing subversive in their pictorials, but they're not. It's why Bettie Page will most likely never be replaced by anybody within the pages of Maxim or Playboy magazines today, because what Page did was innocent, playful, and very sexy, not gratuitous, mean spirited, crude or vulgar. This poster does a very good job at summarizing everything that Bettie Page was and what her work stands for and I am very happy I bought it.
