(More customer reviews)During my searches, I found out on June 5, 2008 that Manuel Padilla had passed way on January 29, 2008 after making a public appearance in Pomona, California. He was 51.
I also came across this Dime With a Halo 11' X 17" Framed Poster. I bought it immediatly after some thought.
Dime With a Halo (1963) was one of my favorite little movies I saw on television in the 1980's. I never forgot it.
The cast is Barbara Luna, Roger Mobley, Rafael Lopez, Tony Maxwell, Larry Domasin, Manuel Padilla Jr.
Juanita (Barbara Luna) and her relation Jose (Roger Mobley) must leave Los Angeles and go to Tijuana, Mexico to make some money and start a new life. While in Tijuana, Jose becomes friends with the street kids who are into making some money too and like to bet on horse races. Then one day with a prayer on a dime, Chey (Rafael Lopez) had taken from a church, they place a bet they will never forget.
I like the title of the film very much. The film doesn't have a grand MGM ending like most MGM movies do, but I find the story to be about hope, luck, fate, and faith.
The film is NOT for young children to see. It has an adult storyline with some adult scenes.
Look for Manuel Padilla Jr. doing his best to sing and dance an Elvis Presley tune.
I had to buy the framed poster which makes a nice room decoration.
The 1963 poster may seem to be a bit risque, but Barbara Luna is the star of the film. The kids are scene-stealers. The poster carries a wise message on it.
The poster came framed in perfect condition and very well wrapped. I would order from MovieGoods again.
