(More customer reviews)This review applies to all of the posters from the Museum HR Giger in Switzerland (of which I now own five: Giger's Alien, Li II, Birth Machine, the ELP Brain Salad Surgery album cover and Hommage à Böcklin)---they are simply stunning reproductions. Wonderful detail against a very high gloss black finish. A word of warning, though: use clean leather or latex (powder free) gloves to handles these posters, as the high gloss black will smudge permanently in an instant if you touch them with the tips of your fingers, leaving your beautiful Giger art surrounded by fingerprints and looking as if the posters were dusted for prints at a crime scene.
Another suggestion, I find that they look beautiful framed either in black or silver (I have my Birth Machine poster in a silver frame, and it fits perfectly), and look even better when presented in a dark space with a one or two subtle light sources to highlight certain aspects of the paintings. Take a look at how Giger has lit his originals in his Museum in Gruyeres, Switzerland, for suggestions (especially The Spell Room).
If you are a fan of Giger and/or fantastic art, these posters are ridiculously cheap for the quality that you are getting. I find that they are the best conversation starters, too, and everyone is drawn to them, whether out of horror, curiosity, disgust or their sheer beauty. Highly recommended.
